The exhibition of female flamenco photographers continues in Sevilla at the Estudio Hache gallery on Avenida de Cádiz number 7 until October 15th. The Spanish national television channel TVE recorded a programme on the Exhibition which was shown on TVE international on the 4th and 5th of October. Michelle and the other artists in this collective exhibition were all interviewed for a slot in the programme. Michelle was asked about her views on this amazing art form, flamenco, as well as photography and her visions of Andalucia through foreign eyes. Michelle belives that " It's a privilege to live as a foreigner in another country as senses are totally alive, observing the small differences in culture and having the joy of capturing these images on camera." October 08 Bangkok.
Michelle flies on assignment to Thailand. She will be spending the first two nights at the Oriental hotel in Bangkok, a select member of the most famous hotels in the World. Michelle´s imagery of this hotel has been published in a book on the history of the Hotel and in web promotion.
Michelle is also preparing a feature on the Loy Krathong full moon festival which takes place on the twelfth Lunar Month of the year. This year it will be celebrated on the 12th of November 2008.
The oriental hotel is a perfect venue to join in the celebrations, with a team of over 500 people preparing this breathtaking event, where small exquisite rafts of hand woven banana leaves and exotic flowers are lit with candles and set sail along the River of Kings, under the Thai full moon. This ritual is to wash away sins and to bring luck for the forthcoming year. October 08 Koh Samui, Thailand.Michelle is currently on the Island of Koh Samui in the south China sea, taking a break at Spa Samui and, of course, enlarging her stock collection of imagery from the island. Michelle claims that it would be more stressful being on holiday without a camera. She says, "Even if I don't use it, it gives me peace of mind knowing it's there if required.
The Thai people with their natural warm smiles are the perfect subjects for any photographer. The Island is also home to several magnificent temples and a big Buddha statue that different reference sources claim to be between 12 and 19 meters in height. This golden statue of an ancient spiritual master looks out over Bang Rak Bay, an impressive sight indeed. With its vast coconut groves, tropical flowers, and Buddist calmness, Koh Samui is a great place to relax and unwind. October 08 Shangri la Hotel Bangkok, Thailand.
Michelle returned to Bangkok enjoying a media stay at the Krungthep Wing of the five star Shangri la Hotel situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River with spectacular panoramic views of the city. The hotel has a superb Serenity Spa with a broad range of treatments including Himalayan Stone Massage and a balance of your Chi energy force. The Shangri la is undergoing major renovation works at the moment, however it's a superb base for journalists, tourists and travellers alike. October 08 Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
