The collection of images displayed at the Mercado del Arte in Marbella (“My Takes”) was created as a personal series .
This collection is outside the commercial client brief; here, Michelle illustrates her own personal vision of a particular hotel where she is staying while she works to capture its essence. These images were never intended to publicise the hotel, but instead represent a view of her private moments, her aesthetic to reaction to that hotel’s history, architecture, character and spirit.
As a photographer, Michelle is always looking for a fresh angle, a thoughtful reaction or an untypical view. Even in her own time when not working on the shoot, she is aware of an interesting frame which makes a good composition, in contrast to those images aimed to sell the establishment in a marketing environment. Simply a photograph for its own sake.
