Olite, Northern Spain
This sun drenched photograph of the Santa Maria de la Real Church is given a three dimensional effect by the shadows of the cloisters. It is one of the most important works of gothic art of the 14th century and the elaborate façade features the apostles, the Virgin Mary and Jesus. This Church is adjacent to the Olite Parador. Whilst travelling around Spain as a photographer, the Spanish Paradores, (state run hotels), are often very convenient places to stay as more often than not they are historic buildings which in themselves can provide fantastic photographic opportunities.
