Tea Plantations, Mauritius

This image was taken in January 2009 on my first trip to Mauritius . To genuinely appreciate the intensity of colours, the tropical birds, exotic flowers, turquoise waters, coral beaches and volcanic landscapes you must see them for yourself. Many of the original inhabitants journeyed from India to work on the tea plantations. This image was captured on the Bois Chri tea plantation. Just a tip for female photographers: don’t wear a skirt when photographing! Those sturdy spiky, tea bushes are not at all gentle on the legs. All worth it for good images though!
