March 2009
March 09 Architectural and Interior shoot, Malaga. Spain
Michelle Chaplow has been commissioned to carry out a photographic assignment for the law firm Irwin Mitchell, which is relocating to new state of the art offices. Situated at number 15, Puerta del Mar, Irwin Mitchell occupies the whole of the second floor in a totally renovated historic building in the centre of Malaga. The second floor exterior displays the charming original facade with ornate windows and tall, elegant Mediterranean shutters. The interior decor is a total contrast with a modern Andalucian patio, teak decking and slick white pots with kentia palms around the patio. The interior decor includes polished marble floors, mainmast sofas, ergonomic work stations and spacious high ceilings reminiscent of the New York lofts.
The whole creation is harmonious in terms of its overall geometric symmetry and well planned design.
Michelle’s images will be used for publicity, brochures and the corporate website.
March 09 Inside Spain Magazine, Barcelona Spain
This month Michelle has provided the magazine with a centre fold collection of images dedicated to the almond tree in Spain. Beautiful almonds in full bloom are one of the very first signs of spring.
The blossom appears and disappears in a very short time which adds intensity to this amazing and fragrant time of year. Almonds form an integral part of Spanish culture as they contribute to many recipes such as almond soups, pastries and the Christmas time favourite, turrón.
March 09 Andalucian Photographic Workshop: Semana Santa 2009
Michelle Chaplow is putting the final touches to her April photography workshop. This workshop provides an excellent opportunity to develop and/or expand photography skills in the midst of Spain’s most mystical annual holiday: Semana Santa (Holy Week). Participants will put theory into practice right in the midst of these moving processions. There will also be visits to some of southern Spain’s most charming white villages and the chance to photograph a flamenco dancer in Michelle’s state-of-the-art studio in the quintessential Spanish fishing village of Estepona, Málaga.
